Default Minipet clone glitch or scam ?

I was talking to Bizzkit T*nk(name modified) about a trade when he showed me his collection of mini pets, he said he can "clone" them he told me to go get killed by some avicara outside droknars forge and wait at the ressurect so i did, he then walked some distance away nowhere near enemys and dropped his titan pet and then asked me to drop mine at this stage i stopped playing(reminds me of diablo 2 scams).

Anyone know where this was going ?, im guessing hed die and get to the resurrect and try grab it but there were no enemys near him ?

It looks like if it is a scam hes been pretty successfull he had alot of mini pets and full FoW armour.

Id post screens but im not sure if its allowed.

You cannot, clone, copy, dupe, or w/e. Its a scam report him. Mostly likely he had a bunch of run skills and would just rush in and take both his and yours.

Never drop anything on the ground, especially if you are with an A/x or X/A.

Recall - Enchantment Spell
While you maintain Recall on target ally, nothing happens. When Recall ends, you Shadow Step to that ally's location.

Sickkk:

The scam was:

Guy: Die, then stand at Res Shrine, and Drop pet
Guy runs off and drops his, then dies
Guy resses, picks up your minipet, then runs and picks up his, then zones.

Reason he says to die, is so you are standing close enough that when he dies, he can pick up your pet quickly and easily, without walking towards it.
The OP stopped playing the scammers game, because he figured it out. He means that he didn't drop his pet as the guy wanted, rather than stop playing GW.

The clone glitch was what the guy was using as an excuse to steal peoples minipets. He would say "I found this clone glitch, do this and it will clone it", and steal their minipet. It was simply a guy taking advantage of stupid people.

Reminds me of an ecto dupping scam that some guy tried to pull on a PuG I was in pretending he was talking in whisper mode and then offering to help us dupe ectos.

It involved emptying your skill bar, dropping your ectos on the ground while "he was far away so he couldn't take them". Of course he was next to a cut scene portal and had running skills so he would run back and steal your ectos and zone.

Anyone that tells you to drop your stuff so it can be duped is a scammer, period. Anyone that wants you to "go outside" becaue he can't trade is a scammer. Anyone that asks you to do anything out of normal channels is likely a scammer.

Scam. Plain and simple. If Anet found this guy making clones they end it and possibly delete his account, or maybe just the items he got from the "glitch."(Kind of like they did when the merchants got screwed up so-so long ago)

I've never seen a legit dupe in D2. D1 however, ah the days of endless gold and infinite apocalypse staves.....

Youve never seen a legit dupe on D2.

...

Okay, moving on.

And there has been at least one previously working dupe in GW history, that allowed people to make their own gold. It was very tedious, but thanks to the wonders of automation many people got quite rich off of it.

I had someone try this yesterday saying they could clone my weapon (lol), so i thought i would waste his time and go along with it for a while,
we went outside lion's to the bridge he stood some distance away and told me to drop the item three times, safe to do this so i did then i had to get myself killed and he would res me so i did,

But he ressed me with unyielding aura (lol) then asked me to drop the item 4 times but i wasnt going to drop anything again as my life depended on him maintaining the enchantment.

So this is the current scam watch out for it and if you get the chance waste a scammers evening(he was a very slow typer took up 20 mins of his time lol)

And the flaming i got from him afterwards was very enjoyable.

Wasn't that the chest outside Ventari's Refuge that would drop 200+ gold every single time, and took like a few seconds to walk to?
